Behold my latest toy!<\/p>\n

That’s right, I bought a guitar! As I told my wife, this is probably going to be as close to a mid-life crisis as I will ever have. Back in my long-haired youth, I played guitar and loved it. Somewhere in my early ’20’s, I got the idea that I would never make money playing guitar so I gave it up, selling the guitar I had at the time when I needed the money. However, a few years ago, I needed some music for the book trailer<\/a> I created to promote Under the Amoral Bridge<\/a><\/em>. To create the music, I used an open source package called Linux Multimedia Studio and fell in love with creating music again. I cooked up a few more songs beside the one for the trailer, but quickly hit a wall. I felt I needed a real guitar to create some of the music I wanted to create. When I was finally able to afford a guitar, this is the model I chose.<\/p>\n

It may never come to anything more than me banging away on the strings, but it feels good to have that musical outlet again. I’ve already been practicing learning songs like War Pigs<\/em> (Black Sabbath) and snippets of Pull the Plug<\/em> (Death).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
